Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient system of healing developed over thousands of years as part of the Traditional medicine of China,Japan and other Eastern countries.

It has evolved into a system of medicine that restores and maintains health by the use of thin needles which are inserted just beneath the body's surface at various points along energy channels.

These energy channels circulate the body and connect to the organs. For each person ,specific points along the channels are chosen in regard to symptoms and diagnosis. When a needle is inserted,it stimulates the body's own healing response to help restore its natural energy balance.

What is Acupuncture used for?

Pain - headache, backache, arthritis and sport injuries.

Digestive ailments - constipation, indigestion, bloating and irritable bowel syndrome.

Gynaecological disorders - premenstrual tension, irregular or painful periods, infertility.

Respiratory ailments - colds, flu, cough ,asthma and lowered immunity.

Lack of energy - insomnia, tiredness, lack of motivation and concentration.

Emotions - stress and anxiety.

Acupuncture does more than simply relieve symptoms. Its aim is to treat the whole person and restore the balance between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the individual.

It can be used as a preventative form of healthcare, to strengthen the constitution or to control symptoms that, if left untreated, could develop into an ailment. Acupuncture can be used even when a person may not have a specific illness but feels unwell in themselves.
